Description
3,8-Diamino-5-[3-(diethylmethylammonio)propyl]-6-phenylphenanthridinium diiodide.
Propidium iodide (PI) is a fluorescent intercalating agent to stain cells and nucleic acids. It does not stain viable and apoptotic cells. PI can be used to evaluate cell viability when used with other dyes that stain viable cells or cells that are in early stage of apoptosis.
